Rope Barnacle Mod

The "Rope Barnacle" is a simple modification of a character model in the Half-Life 1 video game. It replaces the "Barnacle," a ceiling-hanging alien, that catches the player with its long tongue. Due to a friend's crippling fear of the barnacle (coined "barnacle-phobia"), he was unable to play the game.
This was a personal project to help him out. The goal was to create an adequate substitute for the creature, that could be easily identified by the player, but without it eliciting any barnacle-like qualities. A bundle of hanging rope was eventually chosen as the alien's replacement. Did it work? Its confirmed—my friend has indeed finished Half-Life!
